Day 28: Carlsbad
Sunset bat flight at Carlsbad Caverns — no cameras allowed, but unforgettable.
The main attraction in Carlsbad for tourists is the caverns. I went at sunset to see the bats leave for the night. It is quite the spectacle with the whirlwind of bats and the sunset in the background — but unfortunately, there’s no photo or video allowed since it could mess with the bats and scare them back into the cave. So no real pictures of that, and just a few from the parking lot as I was leaving.
