Technically this happened on the same day as the Angel's Landing hike in Zion - I finished the hike around 11:00 am and headed east from Zion. My original plan was to explore some slot canyons near Page, AZ (I wanted something similar to Antelope Canyon, but that didn't require a guided tour). Unfortunately with the rain the last few days, flash floods were a real risk in any slot canyons, so I decided to skip that and push on to Monument Valley. I stopped for some all-you-can-eat pizza in Page, then stopped at the Glenn Canyon Dam visitor center before making it to Monument Valley. Approaching from the west I wanted to get some photos in the sunset. At first, I was disappointed and gave up to continue east towards Mesa Verde, but once past the monuments I saw them in my rear view and stopped several times for Pictures. After that, I drove on and slept in the truck outside of Mesa Verde.
