I had been wanting to visit Brookings, OR at the very SW corner of the state for a while. It's known for moderate weather and is sometimes referred to as a "Banana Belt". Unfortunately, it was raining very hard while I was there so I didn't get to experience much of that. I stopped for breakfast at a nice little Brazilian Cafe before heading north and making several stops along the Samuel H Boardman State Scenic Corridor. I didn't know what to expect, but each of the stops that I made was a real treat. From naturally formed arches to secret beaches and even whale sightings, this was one of the most densely packed sections of my whole road trip in terms of great sights.
